Worked example
What a ₫46,000,000 salary really costs
Take a mid-senior engineer in Ho Chi Minh City on ₫46,000,000 gross per month (≈ US$1,750). Your total monthly cost through Eor.vn:
| Line | VND / month | ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|
| Gross salary (agreed with employee) | 46,000,000 | 1,750 |
| Social insurance — employer 17.5% | 8,050,000 | 306 |
| Health insurance — employer 3% | 1,380,000 | 52 |
| Unemployment insurance — employer 1% | 460,000 | 17 |
| Trade union fund — 2% | 920,000 | 35 |
| Eor.vn fee (annual billing) | 5,230,000 | 199 |
| Total employer cost | 62,040,000 | ≈ 2,360 |
USD figures are indicative. The employee's own deductions (8% + 1.5% + 1% insurance, then progressive PIT) come out of gross salary — on this example the net is ₫39,103,000. Caps applied where the law sets them.
The fine print, in plain words
What we charge — and what we never charge
- No setup fee, no deposit kept by us. Payroll is funded one month in advance; the float is reconciled to the đồng on your monthly report.
- No onboarding or offboarding charges. Exits are part of employment, not an upsell.
- Statutory costs at cost. Insurance and union fund go to the authorities at the legal rates. We add nothing on top.
- Invoicing in USD, EUR or VND, with the FX rate stated on the invoice.
- Leave anytime after the first three months — employees are offboarded lawfully or transferred to your entity.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum number of employees or contract length?
No minimum headcount — plenty of our clients start with exactly one engineer or one country manager. The service agreement runs month to month after an initial three months.
Which exchange rate applies to payroll funding?
Salaries and statutory payments are made in VND. If you fund in USD or EUR, we apply the bank transfer rate on the funding date and state it on the invoice — no hidden FX margin.
What counts as a statutory cost?
Employer social insurance (17.5%), health insurance (3%), unemployment insurance (1%) and the trade union fund (2%), calculated on the lawful salary base with the official caps applied. They appear on your invoice at exactly the amounts paid to the authorities.
Does the fee change for higher salaries?
No. The fee is flat per employee, not a percentage of salary — a US$1,000 junior and a US$5,000 lead cost the same US$199 to administer.
Why is this cheaper than Deel or Remote?
Global platforms price in the infrastructure of 100+ countries — their listed EOR fee for Vietnam starts around US$599 per employee per month. We run exactly one country, with our own local team and none of that overhead, so US$199 buys the same employment lifecycle. Depth instead of breadth is the entire business model.
